As a massive lover of vibrant colours and retro designs, I thought I would create a colourful, retro style play on the letter ‘B’.

Although I’ve been a graphic designer for years, typographic illustration of this ilk is quite new to me. So far I’ve really enjoyed the freedom of experimenting with lettering. The forms and curves of the letters make a great canvas for applying pattern and colour. 

I have also created other letters, A, B and C! Maybe a full alphabet will follow…

B is for bold (and retro!)

I particularly love the colour combo of oranges, yellows and pinks, in true 1970s style! As well as the ‘flower power’ style designs for that era. This design is a reflection of these loves, wound into the beautiful forms of our letter B.
