A yellow and blue flower print

Yellow Flower on Blue by Lila Hunnisett

Just a quick post to say that my yellow and blue geometric flower design is now available as a print in my shop!

I did this one a year or two ago but as I have recently written about, getting my shop online has been a slow burn I’ve been aiming to do for several years (see this post for more info on my journey as a single parent – finding the time has been challenging!).

So, I am taking it slow and adding a little each day where I find the time. I am also trying to make blogging a daily ritual so I will be posting on here much more frequently, with any luck.

Regarding the print – one of the main themes in my work is pattern, and I have a real love of bold colour. Combining the two in this design was one of my aims. I especially love folky style pattern – for example, old jumpers, decoration for decoration’s sake. Hopefully this design combines all three!

‘Buttercup flower”

I am always stuck for names for my work, but I have called this design ‘Buttercup flower’. I fully appreciate the design looks nothing like a buttercup, except that it is yellow, and on a related note it is slightly “cup” shaped (nothing like a real buttercup!). Hopefully I will get better at names in due course. For now I will just use artistic license.

I am aiming to get together a full series of flower prints that will work together in my shop in due course. Finding time to design them is at the moment a bit tricky as we navigate a global pandemic and I attempt to home school my son on top of my paid work… I salute everyone in a similar boat!
